Probability and the Chance of the Roll…with Shroom-Dice!

At this weekend’s Fillmore Jazz Festival in SF (san francisco), i was pleasantly surprised n delighted (and grateful) that the very first pair of my handmade [shroom-Dice赤い] had been bought!
(and now also available for purchase on Etsy HERE~)
Unfortunately, as i’d not gotten quite enough sleep the two nights prior, i lacked the time nor energy to make another pair in time for Sunday’s day2 of the Jazz Fest.  Still, i wonder if the dice have already be played with (it has not yet been 24hr.―since the sale was made―as of this initial writing on july 3rd, Sun.), or if they simply adorn someone’s shelf or coffee table, adding just that bit more of geeky-coolness to their room or game-den?

WYREwork is about creating spacial forms from metallic lines, finding the balance between structure and flexibility. this is a “bottle crab,” with the concept extended from real-life hermit crabs; note the bottle cap for scale.  as a crab, this lil’ guy is short  2 pairs of legs, but that’s stylized design for ya.  for a quadruped (lolz) like this, balance is a much simpler matter than for bipedal sculptures; nevertheless, it has always been important to me that my sculptures—should they have  legs—be able to balance steadily without the aid of any external armature.  please feel free to comment!  ^-^

the flight of ॐ

ॐ  the concept of the Flight of OM :

the OM rests at the base: breathing, living, observing, being. 
the leaves are as open palms, and the connecting vines as arms spread wide, embracing all.  through the leaves & vines, OM resonates in the energy of all around it… 
it grows in its vitality, and its energy ascends to its pinnacle, where it spreads its wings far, and takes flight~

in ghizo’s (or “極獸”) case, it is also about creating a badass, physics-defying, over-sized sword from a puny thing of wire and some leather. this being is manifested from my take on the savage inner-beast one may find in one’s emotions.
